If you want to be aware of the pollution, it is compulsory for the students these days. If you want to be a responsible citizen in the world for future generations, every child should know how human acts leave an impact on the environment and nature. School people should learn how an interesting essay should be written on pollution effortlessly.
Points that you need to consider:
Pollution has become a major issue in today's scenario. Pollution has been in the environment since a long time even before the humans have evolved. It include volcanic eruptions that lead to photochemical reactions in the atmosphere.
The current concern is that pollution is rising day by day due to various resources of pollutants. The major pollutants are humans and man made machines. It will be right to say that if we prevent pollution to damage the earth, it will be a big win.
What is Pollution?
Pollution is the presence of toxic stuffs in the natural environment which can cause harm and damage, there by leading to adverse changes in the environment.
Types of Pollution
There are several types of pollution:-
1. Air Pollution
2. Water Pollution
3. Soil Pollution
1. Air Pollution - It occurs due to the presence of harmful gases and substances in the air. The various sources of air pollution is vehicle emission, dust, dirt and several types of poisonous gases that come from the factories etc.
If we have to reduce the air pollution, we should use carpooling or other type of public transport inspite of other private mode of transportation whose harmful gas emission only adds to the problem.
If we have to reduce the air pollution, we should avoid burning trash or other materials etc.
2. Water Pollution -
This happens when toxic substances get mixed in several water bodies such as lakes, oceans, rivers etc. In water pollution, toxic substances refer to chemical fertilizer, industrial waster, sewage, waste water, mining activities, marine dumping etc.
Soil Pollution -
Soil Pollution refers to the contamination of soil which contains toxic substances that include excessive use of fertilizers, pesticides, deforestation and industrial waste etc.
If one has to maintain the soils fertility, the government should restrict the usage of fertilizer and in addition plant more trees.
There are several other pollutants that cause pollution apart from the above mentioned pollution types such as radioactive pollution. It includes radioactive substances like nuclear waste in air, solids, liquids or any other place.
Effects of Pollution on Human Health -
Pollution is increasingly having a major effect on the health of human being's lives. People get badly affected by various deadly diseases because of various pollution in air waster and soil.
The after effects of Air Pollution-
Air is a great part of human life. Human beings cannot live without breathing air. But air pollution cause a big damage to human being lives. Tons of diseases occur due to air pollution which include:-
1. Lung Cancer
2. Major Coronary Heart Disease
3. Asthama
4. Respiratory Problems
The after effects of Water Pollution -
Water is a big source to have a nourishment inside your body too. Any human being cannot live without drinking water. Major water bodies are getting degraded and polluted that cause deadly diseases to humans and animals. They are also affecting marine life. As water is being consumed all the time. the pollution is causing a lot of deadly diseases.
Major diseases that water pollution causes is :-
1. Cholera
2. Hepatitis A
3. Typhoid
4. Polio
5. Dysentry
6. DIarrhoea
Effects due to Soil Pollution
Soil is very essential part in our daily life. The surface on which we are walking or travelling is made up of soil. Due to all the chemicals that get mixed with soil and degradation, it will be bad if harmful chemicals come in contact with the body and cause skin diseases. A polluted soil can cause several problems for the human beings. The diseases that are caused by soil pollution are:-
1. Different types of Cancer
2. Leukamia
3. Damage of the nervous system which you bring in contact when lead is present in the soil.
4. Liver and Kidney failure
Different methods to reduce the pollution :-
Different elements like air, water and soil are affecting the lives of many children, animals and adults. For that we need to keep our environment safe and use various methods to reduce pollution.
Some methods to reduce Air Pollution
1. Regulation of Air through Chimneys :- The industries should disintegrate the harmful gases from the air before releasing it from the chimneys. Now, they should check and avoid using harmful gases that are a big cause of air pollution.
2. Use of Public Transport or Cycle :
If you go to a distant place by using public transport, to shop to buy some thing, you can always use the cycle or so. This reduces the air pollution. It also helps in health additions.
Reduction of fires and smokes -
In the dry seasons, people burn plastic, papers, dry leaves, that create a big fire and smoke which ultimately creates a harmful layer of fog in the atmosphere.
Steps to reduce Water Pollution
Effective methods to reduce water pollution are:-
1. Avoid Disposing Plastic and waste materials - If you want to keep the water free from any kind of pollution, firstly you have to avoid disposing any plastic or food waste in water. The waste materials get dissolved in water and harm the aquatic life, which in addition drink the water.
2. Reducing the use of Chemicals - You should not purchase harmful chemical products that get mixed with the water and there by pollute it. Major examples are pesticides and insecticides, that cause a big effect on marine life.
3.Reduce the use of Detergents - Detergents have strong chemicals that cause leather to water and wash your clothes. If these detergents get mixed with water, they can pollute the soil.
Methods to reduce Soil Pollution
1. Avoid disposing of harmful chemicals : In the industries, harmful chemicals should not be flown into the soil.
2. Eat food in biodegradable containers : When you throw the food containers in dustbins, it is good to use bio degradable food containers despite using plastic containers that harm the soil.
3. Plant more trees : The layers of the soil can be improved by planting more trees. Trees help to hold the soil together, there by improving the soil quality. Thus we should plant more trees.
